Valorant Mobile Global Release Date: Everything We Know

The mobile gaming community has been eagerly awaiting Riot Games' tactical shooter on smartphones. After years of development and testing, we finally have concrete information about Valorant Mobile's release timeline and what to expect at launch.

Current Status & Timeline

China Release

We got our first sneak peek of Valorant Mobile when its "Omega" closed beta launched in China in June 2025. Unfortunately, only Chinese players with QQ accounts were able to access the game.

Pre-registration opened in April 2025 through Tencent's QQ accounts, and Riot Games has confirmed they will first release Valorant Mobile in China, followed by other regions. We can expect the official Chinese release around November 2025.

Global Release Predictions

We believe that after the soft launch in China, the game will be released in other regions like Korea, Japan, and possibly the USA before the full global release.

Looking at the current schedule, it's likely that the global release will only happen in the first quarter of 2026. However, a delayed release means bug-free, high-quality, smooth gameplay—so hold your horses until then!

An open beta may become available at the end of 2025 for global players.

Development Partnership & Progress

Valorant Mobile is developed by Riot Games in partnership with Tencent's subsidiary, Lightspeed Studios. They announced mobile development way back in June 2021, and it has finally come to fruition after extensive testing and optimization.

Why China First?

China has the largest player base for mobile games and has always been the hub for mobile gaming. The game reached over 10 million pre-registrations within just 48 hours of its announcement.

With China being a priority market for mobile gaming, they launched the first beta test there to identify bugs, test server loads, and gather feedback. Lightspeed Studios' headquarters in China also facilitate easier market entry.

Global Release Challenges

It remains uncertain how Riot will handle the launch of Valorant Mobile in India, as the government has banned Tencent-linked games like PUBG Mobile (though they later re-released BGMI, which is the Indian version of PUBG Mobile).

There has been no official information about when the game will release in major markets like the US, Japan, or South Korea.

Pre-Registration Information

Current Availability

Currently, pre-registration is only available through Chinese app stores with a QQ account requirement. However, after the global release, it will be available for download from the Google Play Store and App Store.

Global pre-registration is expected to open very soon.

What to Expect at Global Launch

Game Features

At launch, there will likely be 16 playable agents: Brimstone, Jett, Phoenix, Sage, Sova, Viper, Cypher, Reyna, Killjoy, Breach, Omen, Raze, Skye, Yoru, Astra, KAY/O.

Agents missing from the mobile version at launch include: Chamber, Fade, Harbor, Gekko, Deadlock, Iso, Clove, Vyse, Tejo, and Waylay. These will become available with future patches.

For maps, there will be six maps from the PC version (Ascent, Bind, Haven, Breeze, Split, Fracture), but Riot has also announced plans to release mobile-specific maps called Shipyard and Ancient Village.

The game will follow a free-to-play model like the PC and console versions, but premium gun skins (which won't impact gameplay or damage) will be available for purchase only.

Bottom Line

Even though Riot hasn't provided a concrete global release date, we can expect a soft launch in China, followed by releases in other countries like Korea and Japan at the end of 2025, with the full global release likely in the first quarter of 2026.

The extended testing period in China will help ensure a smooth experience for worldwide players, but patience will be required as Riot prioritizes quality over speed in their development approach.
